Abengoa Solar awarded the EUSA Business Forum prize for technological development

Sevilla, Abril 7, 2008

The award was presented by Mr. Francisco Obregón, representing theCouncil of Tourism, Commerce and Sports of the province of Seville. Ricardo Abaurre Llorente, Director of Institutional Relations at Abengoa Solar, accepted the prize on the company’s behalf during the awards ceremony.

Abengoa Solar was awarded the prize for technological development for its work in applying and researching different technologies for capturing solar energy as a way to achieve sustainability.These awards symbolize recognition of the efforts of various individuals, associations and businesses in Andalusia that strive for excellence, standing out in their areas of activity.

Ms. María José Uruñuela, Managing Director of the EUSA University Campus, led the ceremony in which prizes were awarded in the following categories: “Young Entrepreneur”, which went to José Bermúdez; “Andalusian Project in Tourism for Solidarity”, received by the Agua de Coco Foundation; “International Projection”, awarded to the Museum of Flamenco Dancing and accepted by Cristina Hoyos; “Sustainable Business Management”, awarded to Hotel Occidental Seville; “Tourist Information Dissemination”, in recognition of the work of the Welcome&Olé! company; and, finally, "Diversification in Tourism", won by Isla Mágica.

The EUSA Business Forum, sponsored by the Council of Tourism, Commerce and Sports of the Andalusion Regional Government, and in collaboration with Red Eures, the Andalusian Employment Agency, Egmasa and the Chamber of Commerce of Seville, aims to create a “place for exchanging opportunities among businesses, professionals, public institutions, students and professors.”

Abengoa Solar focuses its activity on the development and application of technology for the generation of electric energy from the sun.
