Origins

Abengoa Solar NT has been the base for Abengoa Solar, therefore the development of Abengoa Solar is closely associated t the development of Solúcar R&D group.

Origins: Supply and Construction of Equipment

Abengoa started its development on the matter in 1984, taking part in the construction of the Solar de Almeria Platform, constructing some components such as heliostats and facets, and performed the assembly of several equipments on Cesa Tower.

Later in 1987, it also supplied facets for the heliostat field of the Weizmann Institute in Israel. These first contacts on the solar technology field were made from the workshop division of Inabesa, and were the seed to create, in the 90s, a department devoted to take part in R&D projects.
